Sightseeing in Roermond🏛️

City Cruise🚢
The city of Roermond borders the beautiful Maasplassen, the largest continuous water sports area in the Netherlands. As a result, there are many fun activities in and around the water in Roermond. To really experience how big the Maasplassen area is and to enjoy your outing in a relaxed way, a city cruise is highly recommended.
You can step on board the boat in the centre of Roermond, at the Roerkade. Experience the beauty of this area for yourself with a round trip of about 70 minutes.
A city cruise is possible from mid-March till October.

You can climb the tower of St. Christopher’s Cathedral every first Saturday from April to October. You can do so at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
The cathedral’s tower is over 80 metres high. The last stop is at 75 metres (just below the clock). There you can walk around the spire and enjoy stunning views of Roermond and central Limburg. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the views and take beautiful photos and selfies!
The climb to the top and back takes about 45 minutes and has around 265 steps. Along the way, short stops are made at the concert organ, the five majestic bells and the former flat roof.
Hiking & biking 🚶🏻♀️➡️🚴🏻
Doing a city walk is always fun of course. It’s a relaxing way to discover more of a city. In Roermond, there are also several themed walks; stroll past the famous and less famous works of architect Pierre Cuypers or discover the museums and monuments. Of course, there are also plenty of opportunities outside the city like National Park de Meinweg and the Kapellerkwartier.
