That tradition continues today at the weekly markets in Roermond: on Wednesdays, you will find a cosy food market, and on Saturdays, the range of goods on offer is expanded to include all kinds of other items. The market traders are familiar faces in the city centre. They are there in all weathers, some of them for decades, adding extra colour to Roermond with their craftsmanship, friendliness and familiar stalls.

Weekly markets
Every week there is a weekly market on Wednesdays at Munsterplein and Saturdays at the Market square and Munsterplein from 9.30 am. to 4 pm.
The market features various types of stalls, including: fresh vegetables, fruits and fish, a bakery, pet supplies, (children’s) clothes, a poulterer, regional products, flowers and plants, jewellery and much more.
Antiques & flea market
From April till October, there is a flea market every Saturday from 10 am. to 5 pm. alternating between Munsterplein and Kloosterwandplein. Lovers of antiques can indulge in this accessible market.
Lovers of antiques and bric-a-brac will have a great time at this cosy market, where some will search for true antique treasures and others will look for special gifts.
Annual fair
Every 1st Saturday of September is the Annual fair in Roermond. What makes this the biggest market in Roermond? All market vendors are present on one day, on several squares and the stallholders’ competition is held:

A stallholders’ competition on the Varkensmarkt & Steenweg: the stallholders sell their unique products without abandon. Throughout the market day, the stallholders will be judged by a jury on their originality, eloquence and perseverance. Around 4.30 pm., the winner of the stallholders’ competition will be announced at his or her own stand.
